Get The Look: Orange Is The New Black
I am starting the New Year on a bright note by switching a classic black smokey eye for a fun touch of tangerine!
Hydrate and prep the skin using Mac Prep + Prime Fix+ and then apply the Too Faced Primed and Poreless Primer over the T-Zone to create a smooth base and to reduce any visible pores.
Dot Cover FX Custom Cover Drops onto the face and blend in with a damp Beauty Blender.
Using the Stila Shape and Shade Custom Contour Duo contour the cheekbones, temples, jaw line and sides of the nose and blend out to create flawless definition.
Conceal under the eyes and using Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer and set using the Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette shade 'Lyric' with the tapered end of the Contour brush. Set the rest of your face with a translucent powder.
Using a fan brush lightly highlight the tops of the cheekbones, cupids bow and brow bone with 'Champagne Pop' from Becca Cosmetics. Add some colour to your cheeks and sweep up into the temples by mixing 'Mood Exposure' and 'Dim Light' from Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Palette.
Shape and feather the brows using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in 'Medium Brown' and then with an angle brush fill in using the Taupe shadow form the Bobbi Brown Brow Kit. Lightly apply the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel to hold natural brow hairs in place.
EYES + LASHES
Apply Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer on the eyelids to create a smooth base.
With a small fluffy brush blend taupe and light browns shades from the Morphe 35O Palette (see the circled shades below used to create this look) into the crease and to create a transition shade. Go backwards and forwards in a fast, light handed motion to fuse together.
Pick up the bright orange shade (from the same palette) with a flat shader brush and pack it onto the mobile lid. Then get a clean fluffy brush and lightly work over crease to fuse the orange and taupe shadow shades together.
Using a pencil brush apply the same bright orange shade to the outer bottom lash line and then pick up the same taupe/brown shade as used in the crease and work it along the balance of the lower lash line towards the inner corner.
Add some shimmer to the look and give the illusion of brighter, wider eyes by lightly applying the gold shadow to the inner corner area of the eye.
Coat the lashes with Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara before applying Ardell Demi Wispies Lashes to create the ultimate glam eye look.
To define the lash line and hide the lash band, sweep the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner over the top lash line.
Line the lips with Too Faced Perfect Lips Lip Liner in 'Perfect Nude' and fill with Mac Cosmetics X Ellie Goulding Patent Polish Lip Pencil in 'Innocent' for a barely there lip.
