Be part of the solution and make the switch to Cruelty Free.
From makeup and skincare to fragrances and haircare, each year, more than 100 million animals including mice, rats, frogs, dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, monkeys, fish, and birds are killed in laboratories for cosmetics testing to ensure products and ingredients are suitable for human use and consumption. Innocent animals are suffering for our vanity and it needs to stop. In this day and age with our enhanced technology and endless possibilities I truly believe animal testing is something which needs to be banned worldwide.
Do you have a pet dog, cat or rabbit? Now imagine someone took that pet from you, squeezed it into a tiny cage and performed experiments on it where substances are tested in their eyes and on their skin. They are then observed for any inflammation, swelling, redness, discharge and ulceration and once complete the animal is killed. I don't know about you but I would never want to subject my pet or any other innocent animal to this sort of cruelty. Plus it has been found that there are considerable differences between human and animal skin so if it isn't an accurate model why are we testing on it?
WHAT IS CRUELTY FREE?
If a product is not tested on an animal at any point in production (ingredients and final product) then it is cruelty free.
If there is no animal testing by their suppliers of raw materials it is cruelty free.
If there is no animal testing performed by any third party on behalf of the company then it is cruelty free.
If the product is not sold in mainland China or any other country where animal testing is required by law then it is cruelty free.
As of January 1, 2018 I made the pledge to go cruelty free and become a pescatarian (where I only eat fish and seafood) and I am on a mission to educate and inspire others to make the change to cruelty free cosmetics and products too.
Below I share makeup, skincare, hair care and fragrance brands which are cruelty free and also those who still test on animals to help you make more informed purchasing decisions in the future.
