April Favourites

Marisa Robinson Makeup Artist April Favourites

Naturally I have been looking forward to April ending so I have an excuse to share my monthly favourites with you! Here are six products I am loving and definitely can't live without!

Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist
There is nothing more refreshing than spritzing your face with rosewater. I keep a bottle on my desk, one in my bag and one in my kit so I can give my skin an instant pick me up and hydration morning, noon or night. With a combination of rose extract and marshmallow, the Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist has the most beautiful scent and the light mist absorbs nicely into the skin, balancing and restoring.

Alpha-H Liquid Gold
I have a lot of love for Alpha-H this month! Known as the 'original acid toner' the Alpha-H Liquid Gold is super powerful and great for mature or sun damaged skin. As directed, I use apply it every alternate night after cleansing and I can feel it working instantly to tone and brighten my skin. In combination with the Alpha-H Liquid Gold Smoothing & Perfecting Mask (see below), this dynamic duo will really improve the overall look, quality and life of your skin.

Alpha-H Liquid Gold Smoothing & Perfecting Mask
Next in line is the Alpha-H Liquid Gold Smoothing & Perfecting Mask which I gushed about in my latest 'Believe The Hype' post (click here to check it out). This award winning mask has done wonders for my problematic skin and I have only been using it for a couple of weeks! The powerful mask is like a mini face peel as the 15% Glycolic Acid works to exfoliate dead surface cells while the Lavender, Honey and Vitamin E works to sooth and balance the skin. It tingles a little bit on application but I find it is mainly around those problem areas and it settles down within a couple of seconds. Simply apply it to the face and neck, wash it off after 10 minutes and you are good to go! Just be sure to apply SPF 30+ sunscreen afterwards as the mask will make your skin more sensitive to the sun

iT Cosmetics 'Feel The Moment' Anti-Aging Ultra Hydrating Sensory Awakening Primer Serum
This wonder serum definitely lives up to its name! I don't have overly dry skin so I am always cautious not to apply too much oil or serum, but I was pleasantly surprised by how beautifully this absorbed without leaving my skin feeling oily like some formulas do! I applied it as a primer and my skin felt super soft, smooth and it created the perfect base for my foundation. A little bit goes a very long way, I used no more than a five cent piece for my whole face, and you can use it in so many ways: over or under your moisturiser, before foundation or over your night cream for maximum results. The possibilities are endless but you are guaranteed beautiful, soft revitalised skin!

Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette
The temperature may be starting to drop but I am going to keep my makeup looking hot this season with the Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette. I used the warm shades (Ludwin, Succubus, Sytry and Latinus) from this palette to create my Coachella Festival Makeup Look and I love how it made my eyes pop and how pigmented yet blendable the shadows are. The world is literally your oyster with this palette, you can get inspiration from the included contour guide but I much prefer to break the rules and experiment with each shade making unique, one of a kind eye looks.

Laura Mercier Candleglow Luminizing Palette
I don't think a monthly favourites will go by without me featuring a highlighter or illuminator, I am obsessed! The latest addition to my collection is the Laura Mercier Candleglow Luminizing Palette which I picked up on my latest trip to Sephora. I wasn't shopping for it in particular but one swatch and I was sold - it is so pigmented and contains six shades, four designed for the eyes and two for the face, which create the perfect glow. I also like to mix the 4 eye shades together and dust them on the high points of my face for a nice highlight.
