Charlotte Tilbury Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet Mask Review
I love sheet masks! They are the perfect way to hydrate the skin and also how I like to relax. So when I saw the new Charlotte Tilbury Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet Mask which claims to provide expert facialist results in just 15 minutes I had to get one and put it to the test!
Before I share my first impressions here is some information about the mask direct from the Charlotte Tilbury website:
Inspired by the technical innovations of Korean beauty, my Instant Magic Facial DRY Sheet Face Mask, with its revolutionary biomimetic delivery system is the Magic Facial DRY sheet mask of the future! It features ingredients which are clinically proven to reduce wrinkles, smooth, brighten, lift and hydrate your skin exactly where it needs it. Make all your magic skin wishes come true!
WHAT MAKES INSTANT MAGIC FACIAL DRY SHEET MASK MAGIC:
Get glowing red-carpet-ready skin in just 15 minutes!
The mask is dry as the textile fabric has already been impregnated with tiny vectors of Charlotte's MAGIC actives – featuring vitamins, floral extracts, peptides, oils and butters – which are delivered directly into the third layer of the epidermis.
This unique DRY sheet mask is like nothing you’ve tried before! It has an in-built technological 5 Skin Solution IQ which tailors to your skin, feeding it exactly what it needs.
Bio-mimetic revolutionary system gives a prolonged release of the ingredients, giving it time to immerse into your complexion.
Usual wet masks are mainly glycerin & water and slop on but the ingredients evaporate off of the skin after 45 minutes. This lasts for 8 HOURS!
Because it isn’t a wet formula, it doesn’t harbour bacteria, so you can use this up to 3 times!
Ideal if you want gorgeous, glowing HD camera-ready skin that is hydrated and revitalised.
Because this mask can be used up to 3 times I have documented my thoughts after two wears.
I decided to film my first wear of this mask so you can see the application method (which I am super impressed with!) and my first impressions.
For my review after application one check out the video below:
I applied this mask directly before applying a makeup look (tutorial coming soon) and it made my skin feel so good and created the perfect base for my makeup to sit on.
After cleansing and washing off a full face of makeup my skin definitely needed a little TLC so I decided to go round 2 of the CT Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet Mask.
I applied it the very same way as in the video but instead of activating it by massaging it with my hands, I decided to use my jade roller (click here to discover why you need a jade roller in your life!) for a deeper massage. I definitely found this more effective as the roller was firmer and extracted more of the ingredients out.
I left the mask on for 15 minutes and once removed my skin felt super soft, smooth and more hydrated. There was more formula on my face compared to application one and I'm sure that was due to the jade roller massage.
Again it was not sticky and had a nice velvety finish.
Application 2: The Next Day
I applied and removed the mask at night before I went to bed so the formula had a solid 8 hours to absorb into the skin. When I woke up my skin was dry and felt really soft, smooth and supple especially around my eyes.
I didn't see a reduction in redness but I have rosacea so I didn't really expect to see that straight away.
After wearing the mask twice I definitely like how hydrated and smooth it made my skin feel.
It is also a really nice way to prep the skin before a makeup look and I think it would be especially nice to apply to a bride on her big day before she has her makeup done. It wakes up the skin and after massaging it on the face, extracts the perfect amount of formula so your skin isn't left feeling sticky, oily or like there's too much excess serum on your face.
As for it reducing wrinkles, I think I'll need a few more wears before I see those kind of results but I can definitely see the long term benefits of adding this mask to your skincare regime.
Will I purchase the Charlotte Tilbury Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet Mask again?
Yes, but at $35 a mask it isn't one I'll be wearing every week. While I like the results I would probably save it to pamper myself with before applying a special occasion makeup to create the perfect base. But keep in mind that it can be used 3 times so it works out to be almost $12 per use which is about the same price of any normal sheet mask so it is great value for money.
