Uni Organics Forever Tan - Gradual Tan Moisturiser Review

Marisa Robinson Makeup Artist Uni Organics Forever Tan Gradual Tan Moisturiser

My trip to Bali is right around the corner and I definitely didn't want to be the palest chick at the beach so I had to call in for reinforcements!

Luckily my friends at Uni Organics had my back and sent me their Forever Tan - Gradual Tan Moisturiser to try out and it has literally allowed me to faux that summer glow just in time!

I am not big on tanning. In Summer I tend to tan naturally so I don't mind if it fades away a bit in the cooler months. But when I do need to up my glow game I always reach for a temporary tan or a gradual tanner so I am in control of how dark I actually want to be rather than ending up looking like an oompa loompa!

I have been using this tan over the past few weeks and I am loving the results! But before I share my first impressions and before and after pics let me share some information about the product straight from the source!

For natural honey tones use UNI ORGANICS Forever Tan - Gradual Tan

This nourishing product is applied like body lotion and gives a natural sun kissed glow within a few hours. Build up your tan by using this Gradual tan moisturiser everyday until you have achieved your desired colour.

The active tanning ingredient (DHA) is sourced from sugar beets and mixed with grape seed extract to brown the skin, while Aloe Vera and sunflower seed oil moisturise and nourish, it also contains Lemon Aspen a bio active native extract which has powerful anti-ageing properties to protect the skin from the signs of premature ageing.

The Uni Organics Forever Tan Gradual Tan Moisturiser comes in a 150ml tube with a gold/bronze metallic label. It is Australian made and owned, not tested on animals, vegan friendly and is certified organic by the ACO - all of which I know are very important to consumers when purchasing skincare and beauty products. On further inspection I discover it contains plant based ingredients so you're not applying any nasties to your skin!

When I removed the foil tab off the tube I was greeted with a really nice scent which I normally don't get from other tanning products. I believe it is a combination of the Sunflower Seed Oil, Aloe Vera, Lemon Aspen Extract and other Australian Native Extracts and it was a very welcome and pleasant smell.

I started by squeezing a small amount into my hands and massaged it directly onto my legs. The good thing about this formula is that it is white in colour so you can see where you have gone a little heavy handed and blend it into the skin. Like I would a normal tan, I applied the moisturiser sparingly over my knees, ankles and feet just so they weren't too dark. I used my bare hands to apply it (no gloves) and once I had finished applying it I washed my hands with warm, soapy water.

This was an extremely fuss free product which I appreciate as I am quite busy and don't have time to wait hours for tans to process.

I wasn't sure if the tan would transfer onto furniture while it was processing so I put a towel down just to be safe especially since we just got a new lounge! But I can now report that it doesn't transfer because while it is moisturising, the formula quickly absorbed into my skin so I wasn't left with sticky or creamy residue. I did apply this on a day where I didn't have to go out so I wore shorts just so I wouldn't disturb the processing or cause any unwanted streaks. The only time I noticed the scent of tanner was after about 8 hours of having it on my skin, but once I had a shower it was gone.

I saw results after hours of applying the Uni Organics Forever Tan Gradual Tan Moisturiser! Suddenly my pasty, white skin had a nice subtle glow so I knew I was onto a good thing! I left it a couple of days and decided I wanted to up the intensity so I applied some more and again I got fantastic results! Not too dark, not orange, not streaky - just a beautiful golden glow which looked nice and natural, just the way I like it. Below is the before and after picture which shows my colouring before and after applying two coats of Uni Organics Forever Tan Gradual Tan Moisturiser.

I have now applied the Gradual Tan 3 times just to maintain the golden glow and I plan on taking it with me to Bali, not only to keep my tan in check but to keep my skin moisturised and hydrated as I will be spending a lot of time in the sun.

Speaking of sun, one thing I should mention is that this gradual tanner does not contain sunscreen so be sure to slip, slop, slap so you maintain your golden glow and don't end up a nice shade of lobster!

With a price tag of $39.95 you are definitely going to achieve a beautiful sun kissed glow for a fraction of a price that you would pay for other tanning products or countless spray tans!
