Blogger Spotlight Series: Meet Beauty Reign
Welcome to my new series: Blogger Spotlight where I profile my favourite beauty bloggers and get to know them, their blogging journey, fave products and advice for budding bloggers through a quick Q&A.
This week the blogger spotlight is shining brightly on Bernadette from Beauty Reign. I have had the pleasure of meeting B at several beauty events and quickly learnt we had a lot in common and also live a stones throw away from each other! She is an amazing woman, fantastic mother and someone I feel so lucky to have met through blogging!
WHAT'S THE NAME OF YOUR BLOG AND IS THERE A STORY BEHIND THE NAME?
My blog name is Beauty Reign - I was looking for a name that represents the obsession I have with beauty! It took me a few weeks to come up with this name. My original preference was Reigning Beauty but that was taken by some US organisation. So decided on Beauty Reign.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN BLOGGING?
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU'RE NOT BLOGGING?
I work full-time as a IT Project Co-ordinator for Allianz Australia. I've had a few career changes in my lifetime with one of them being in accounting (found it boring). I also have a 9 1/2 year old son and look after my husbands business (administration and BAS side of things).
Hobbies include buying makeup, photography, travelling, discovering new places to eat with friends, love going to markets and findings treasures. ice-skating, tennis, swimming in the sea and playing scrabble!
HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR BLOGGING CAREER TO DATE
Working on an online magazine as a beauty editor for Gaynor Adler (unfortunately now defunct). This is when I decided to take my casual blogging more seriously. Also, meeting so many amazing fellow bloggers along the way and building relationships with them.
TOP 5 MAKEUP / BEAUTY PRODUCTS YOU'D BE LOST WITHOUT
YSL Touche Eclat - Ive been using this for almost 10 years! All those sleepless nights when my son was born, the Touche Elcat saved my appearance! It was the only thing that got rid of my dark circles without the caked on look.
Any Lip Balm - I think I would of had no lips left if it wasn't for lip balm, often having dry lips I would bite them to peel the skin off and make them bleed!
Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Balm - it was my all-purpose repair balm for cuticles, lips, elbows, cheeks. Perfect for travelling. I used it on my son as well when he had nappy rash or any grazes.
Aveda Smooth Serum - I have seriously wavy frizzy hair and i would be lost without this product. It is a lifesaver.
Exfoliating Mitts for the body - I never feel clean if I am not using mitts to cleanse my body.
YOUR SKINCARE SAVIOURS
Water spray mists (like Avene) - feeling the heat in Summer it helps me get through the day especially when travelling on public transport!
Rosehip oil - it fixes everything

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE LOOKING TO BECOME A BEAUTY BLOGGER
Don't expect success overnight, it takes hard work and dedication. Accept constructive criticism, it's the only way you will grow. It's important to have the right mindset when you start blogging. Receiving free products is a privilege and an added bonus to being a blogger.
Don't forget to have fun!
