Byron Bay Bronze Tanning Foam Review
As you may have noticed it has been a hot minute between blog posts but when something impresses me I have to scream it from the rooftops and that is exactly what happened when I used Byron Bay Bronze.
I was recently gifted their complete tanning range (along with some sweet treats which I am very grateful for hehe) and since we have just gone into Spring my pasty skin was in need of some colour so the timing couldn’t have been more perfect!
In this blog post I will share some information about Byron Bay Bronze, their values (which are very much aligned with my own) and my before and after shots so you can see the results for yourself.
As the name suggests, Byron Bay bronze originated in Byron Bay Australia and all their products are natural, organic, cruelty free, vegan and PETA approved - see I told you they tick all my boxes! Their formulas are free from chemicals and toxins and carefully formulated using only the highest quality ingredients such as French DHA, Kakadu Plum, organic avocado, macadamia, almond oil, caffeine, vitamins and aloe vera.
They are also strongly committed to the environment and sustainability. Their bottles are made from ocean waste plastic which actually removes plastic debris from the ocean and reuses it. They also give back by donating $1 from every purchase to Wild Ark.
What an amazing company right?!?! Now wait til you see their tan results.
The picture below is my skin without any tan. I prepped my skin the day before by shaving, exfoliating and moisturising so my skin was soft, smooth and ready to go.
I used their ‘Dark’ tanning mousse which I applied using their microfibre tanning mitt. Part of any good tan comes down to skin prep and what you use to apply it and this mitt made application easy and fuss free. I pumped the mousse directly onto the mitt and then applied it to my body in long upwards motions. When it came to my hands, feet, knees and elbows I like to use the excess that’s on the mitt after doing the main parts of my body so I don’t apply too much. I also pull the mitt over each finger and toe to ensure I get the sides.
The great thing about this tanning foam is that it leaves a guide colour as you apply so you know what areas you haven’t done yet. It also didn’t have that horrible fake tan smell, hallelujah!
I personally found this method to achieve a really beautiful, streak-free result.
After the tan was dry I dressed in an old singlet and skirt. I didn’t notice any transfer but just wear something you’re not precious about just in case.
Below is the development stage so it does look quite dark but don’t worry, once you rinse it off it does reveal a nice, natural glow.
I left the tan on for 2 hours because that is how long I had available and the results did not disappoint!
To remove I simply hopped in the shower and rinsed it off with warm water and then applied a light moisturiser. I like to do this everyday but especially when I self tan as I find it gives the tan longevity.
When I self tan I never want to go too dark, I like a natural tan so I still look myself and the Byron Bay Bronze tan definitely achieves that. It gave me that healthy, golden glow like I had just come back from vacation!
No orange, oompa loompa vibes here!
From the pics above it might not look like much but it is definitely a huge improvement on the before. Check out the side by side results below:
I definitely have a new favourite tan which I’ll be using all Spring and Summer long!
Have you tried Byron Bay Bronze? What is your favourite fake tan?
