Eyeko Black Magic Eyeliner + Mascara Review
Liquid liner and mascara are two products which are a must for finishing off the perfect eye look. So when Eyeko sent me their new Black Magic Liquid Eyeliner and Black Magic Mascara to try I couldn't wait to put them to the test!
In this blog post I will share my thoughts and first impressions on both Eyeko products as well as close up pics of the liner tip and mascara wand to show you exactly what we are working with.
EYEKO BLACK MAGIC LIQUID EYELINER + WIDELASH
Liquid liner is definitely an art which takes time and practise to perfect. I have tested countless liquid liners on the market to find the perfect formula, tip and to see which liner gives me the most precise wing. So far the one that trumps them all is the Kat Von D 'Tattoo Liner' but there is a new liner in town which is on par, if not very close to taking out first place and that liner is the Eyeko Black Magic Liquid Eyeliner.
Before I share my thoughts on the Eyeko Black Magic Liquid Eyeliner here is some information straight from their website:
Inspired by traditional calligraphy, our latest liner makes cat eyes effortless even for liquid liner novices. Smooth, fluid single stroke colour glides on and stays on for an all-day finish without fading. With precision brush tip for perfect application. Contains WIDELASH™ with a tripeptide boost to promote lash growth for up to three times more length and volume in 15 days. Japanese precision brush tip for single-stroke colour. Waterproof, long wear and fade proof. Carbon-black finish.
I am obsessed with the brush tip! It has the perfect amount of firmness, it isn't too hard and is flexible enough to create the perfect flick. The Japanese precision tip is inspired by traditional calligraphy for the perfect stroke.
Below is a swatch of a single stroke. It isn't too thick but it is definitely buildable. When it comes to liner I like to start with small strokes and build up to a thicker line. This liner also contains 'Widelash' with a tripeptide boost to promote lash growth for up to three times more length and volume. I have never used a liner which has these added feature so I feel like I am definitely killing two birds with one stone!
I absolutely love this liner. As you can see in the photo below it creates the perfect precise wing. A winged line can sometimes take me a couple of goes and I have my good and bad liner days, but with this liner I got it first time, it was like magic!
EYEKO BLACK MAGIC MASCARA
I have naturally long lashes so I like a mascara which is going to make them look even longer and more voluminous.
Before I share my thoughts on the Eyeko Black Magic Mascara here is some information straight from their website:
Transform your eyes with the power of Black Magic! Designed for after-hours seduction, our ultimate mascara combines drama, volume and curl with a carbon-black finish to intensify your lashes like no other. The curvaceous brush lifts lashes for a 90-degree curl, while remaining conditioned, supple and defined with colour that stays true and really lasts. With conditioning keratin and shea butter. Full contact curved helix brush to lift, curl and volumise lashes.
This mascara doesn't come in your regular cylinder but rather a tube which I think it quite cool. The wand is also curved to create ultimate curl and volume throughout every lash.
I applied this mascara by wiggling it at the roots and taking it through the length of the lash for maximum volume and coverage. Below you can see the result of one coat of the Eyeko Black Magic Mascara applied to my lashes (left). Not only does it make my lashes so much blacker but lengthens and curls them beautifully.
The Eyeko range is available online and they offer free delivery to Australia for orders over $40USD!
