Face Halo - Does It Really Work?

Marisa Robinson Beauty Face Halo

Chloe Morello swears by it and the Insta community is going crazy for it, but can the Face Halo really remove a full face of makeup using only water? I put it to the test to see the results for myself!

I went straight to the source and got the following info and diagram above from the Face Halo website:
Face Halo works with either cold or warm water. The water loosens your makeup allowing the HaloTech fiber strands (which are 100 times finer than a human hair) to reach deep into your pores to remove and trap makeup, giving your skin a healthy and invigorating clean in half the time.

I was lucky enough to win a 3 pack of Face Halos from the beautiful Nalini AKA The Madeup Maiden. This pack retails for $22USD (approx $28AUD). That works out to be just over $9AUD a halo which is reusable for up to 200 washes. It also comes with a wash bag to make cleaning it easier.

To activate the Face Halo all you need to do is add water - it's that simple! Then gently wipe over the face for makeup free skin!

In the photo above I used the Face Halo on the right side of my face. I was pleasantly surprised to see it remove all of my makeup right before my eyes! Brows, mascara, foundation, lipstick, bronzer, highlight - everything! For my eyes I added a little more water and held the Face Halo on them for a few seconds just to make the removal of my mascara easier.

Above shows just how much makeup the Face Halo removes using only water. After I removed the rest of my makeup I hand washed the Face Halo with soap and warm water but after the next use I will definitely be putting it in the washing machine (they advise not to use fabric softener as it may coat the fibers and reduce their effectiveness).

I think this is a really amazing makeup removal system. It clearly works, I think it is good value for money (especially when you compare it to buying packets of makeup remover wipes or bottles of micellar water and cotton pads) and it is really easy!

Would I use this as a replacement to cleansing my skin? Absolutely not. I think this is a good method to remove makeup but I went straight in with a cleanser and konjac sponge afterwards to deeply cleanse my skin so there wasn't any makeup in my pores.

I do think the Face Halo will be my new BFF when it comes to travelling though. They are lightweight and flat so they take up next to no room in my toiletries bag and they won't add the extra kg's in my luggage which I can then fill with shopping! YAY!

The Face Halo is available online and you can also buy it as a subscription service.

Have you tried the Face Halo? How did you find it?
