FENTY BEAUTY Makeup Tutorial
FENTY BEAUTY has landed and the world is going nuts! This much talked about range launched globally last Friday with Australia being the first country to celebrate the release. I couldn't resist checking it out for myself so I visited Sephora Macarthur at 9am sharp to get my hands on this must have collection. But does it live up to the hype?
In my latest video I created a makeup look using some of the new Fenty Beauty products and give you my thoughts on each below.
Watch it now to see the Fenty Beauty collection at 'work, work, work, work, work, work' and give it a thumbs up and subscribe if you enjoy :)
Fenty Beauty is from the same makers as Marc Jacobs and Kat Von D cosmetics so as soon as I heard that I knew I was going to love the range.
Before I share my thoughts on each of the products used I just want to give you some background info on my skin type. I have normal to combination skin and tend to get oily through my T-Zone. I think this is important to let you know as different skin types will respond differently to products so what works for me might not necessarily work for you. For example if you have dry skin you may need to do a bit more base prep as it is a matte foundation. I would definitely recommend if you are on the fence or if you are unsure of your shades to visit your nearest Sephora store and get colour matched and see how it wears.
Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Primer
This is a really beautiful primer which creates the perfect base for the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation. What I love most about it is how soft it makes my skin feel, that the formula isn't sticky and how it drys quickly leaving my skin soft and smooth. It also works to minimise pores so I like to target it around my T-Zone to conceal those areas.
Remember all good makeup starts with a good base. You may not want to get a primer but remember to cleanse and massage moisturiser into your skin to create the perfect canvas.
Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation
Where do I start with this foundation. So it comes in 40 shades so everyone covered which makes me so happy as I know the struggle is real for a lot of girls, especially with darker skin tones in Australia. The formula is so nice on the skin, I will admit I was a little concerned about it not being full enough coverage for me but it is buildable and covers all my redness and blemishes even without using colour correctors first. I have been using the foundation with the primer and it has been wearing really well and acts like a second skin. It isn't cakey or thick, it just blends seamlessly into the skin for a nice natural look. While it is a matte finish I don't find it to be a drying matte foundation like some other foundations I have used, but again base prep is definitely essential for any long lasting makeup look.
Fenty Beauty Match Stix Matte Skinstick 'Linen'
I am really loving this concealer for a couple of reasons. The packaging is super cute and I love that it's magnetic and sticks to the rest of the 'Match Stix' range. I also love the formula, it provides a really nice coverage and doesn't crease under my eyes!
Fenty Beauty Precision Makeup Sponge #100
I am a Beautyblender babe through and through but this sponge is fabulous and blends out my foundation to perfection. I prefer to use it damp to get a really flawless finish but you can also use it dry for a fuller coverage or with powders to bake. The shape of the sponge is great too, it is rounder on one end which I use for my face and then the other end is more tapered and I like to use it around the sides of my nose, under my eyes or harder to reach places.
Fenty Beauty Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick 'Trippin'
I am all about that highlighter life so I couldn't resist getting the shade 'Trippin' which is described as a Gold-Glazed Apricot shade. I am loving all things peachy right now so I popped this on the top of my cheekbones and my eyelids and blended it out with my finger. The warmth from your skin melts the product seamlessly creating a really beautiful glow. For an intense glow I then top it with 'Girl Next Door' from the Killawatt Highlighter Duo.
Fenty Beauty 'Killawatt' Freestyle Highlighter Duo
I am LOVING this duo! On the left we have 'Girl Next Door' and on the right is 'Chic Phreak'. Chic Phreak is the darker of the two shades so I like to sweep this along the cheeks and the pop Girl Next Door onto the high points of my face for a gorgeous glow!
Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer in 'Fenty Glow'
This lip gloss is everything!! It isn't sticky, it has a lovely subtle shade and a beautiful shine without being glittery. I am obsessed with the scent too, it has a peachy vanilla scent which is so sweet! I have been wearing this solo and on top of my favourite lipsticks.
Fenty Beauty is 100% cruelty free and available from Sephora stores and online worldwide!
I am so impressed with this collection, it has honestly exceeded all my expectations and creates such a beautiful look. I would love them to release more lip products and maybe some eye products as well so hopefully there is a line expansion in the not too near future!
Did you pick up anything from the Fenty Beauty Collection? What is your favourite so far?
