Get The London Look with Rimmel
Kate, Cara, Rita - three London style icons I am inspired by when I want to create a London look. These fashionistas each have a signature makeup look and have mastered a key feature and made it their own. Kate Moss has her liner on fleek, Cara Delevingne with her bold, beautiful brows and Rita Ora has nailed the perfect red lip. They have also all been the face of iconic beauty brand, Rimmel London.
In this blog post I am going to share some of my must-have Rimmel London products to get the London look.
EYE LOVE KATE
No one rocks a smokey eye and a feline flick quite like Kate! From supermodel come fashion designer, she is the epitome of the London look. To get that perfect, graphic line I have been reaching for my Rimmel Scandaleyes Bold Liquid Liner with ball tip. This may sound foreign as we are used to liquid liners with felt and precise tips but the ball tip really helps to get that bold precise line. It also has an intense glossy finish so it is perfect to wear against a black matte smokey eye. No eye look is complete without a coat of mascara and I am loving the Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara for voluminous and luscious lashes!
CARA'S BOLD BROWS
Cara has put brows on the map! It’s all about bold, fluffy brows and when done right they frame your whole face. I like to use at least 2 products to get bad ass brows! First I start with a spoolie brush and comb my natural brow hairs up and out so they are neat and tidy. I naturally have quite fair and sparse brows so I like to keep them looking somewhat natural by filling them in with powder. Take an angled brush and use the powder from Rimmel’s Brow This Way Palette and fill them in using small strokes to give the illusion of natural brow hairs. Once they are filled in I take the new Rimmel Brow Styling Gel and run it through my brows, lightly brushing them up and out. What I love most about this styling gel is that not only does it add colour to your brows for dimension, but it holds your natural hairs in place while Argan Oil nourishes your brows. It is available in three shades (blonde, medium brown and dark brown) but if you find they don’t work for you they also have a clear gel which I cannot live without!
RED LIP LIKE RITA
Complete your London look with a perfect red pout! Before I apply any bold lip shade I like to prep my lips with a LUSH lip scrub (have you seen their new chocolate scrub they released for Easter? Yum!) so my lips are soft, smooth and free of any dead skin. Then to prevent the lipstick from bleeding I line my lips either with a lip liner in the same shade as the lipstick or an invisible liner which goes on clear but still keeps everything between the lines! Now it is time to apply your favourite red lipstick! I am loving the Rimmel The Only 1 Matte Lipstick in ‘Take The Stage’ (#500). Red and darker lipstick shades can often be unforgiving so take your time to apply the lipstick, focusing on a precise edge and sharp cupids bow. If you do happen to go out of the lines or it bleeds, don’t worry, just take a bit of concealer on a brush and tidy up the edges for a perfect pout!
To complete the look I will be wearing some of my favourite City Chic styles from their collection 'The London Edit'.
