GET THE LOOK!
For this look I did my eye makeup first. That way if there was any shadow fall out I could easily wipe it off before applying my foundation and base. I used eyeshadows from Makeup Geek but feel free to use your favourite red, brown and neutral matte eyeshadows to create this look.
Prep the eyelids using 'Painterly' Pro Longwear Paint Pot by M.A.C Cosmetics to create a smooth base. To set the eyelid base dust a neutral matte eyeshadow (I used 'Beaches & Cream') over the entire lid. This will make it easier to blend the shadows and ensure the base isn't sticky.
With a small fluffy brush apply a red matte shadow (I used 'Poppy') into and just above the crease to create a transition shade. Go back and forth in a fast, light handed motion to blend and create a transition shade.
Once done take a flat brush pick up a brown matte shadow (I used 'Mocha') and apply it onto the entire lid. Then take a clean fluffy blending brush and lightly brush over the top of the brown and red shadows to fuse together and soften any harsh lines.
For the lower lash line, take a pencil brush and apply the same red matte shadow. Then take the same pencil brush and brown matte shadow and apply it to the outer lower lash line. Take a clean small blending brush and lightly brush over to blend the shades together.
Create a winged eye line using the Kat Von D 'Tattoo Liner' or your liquid eyeliner of choice and coat the lashes with Black Mascara.
This look is ALL about those lashes so the bigger the better! This set of lashes from Heaven Costumes is perfect! To hide the lash band, sweep the liquid liner over the band and upper lash line.
Line the inner waterline using a white kohl eyeliner pencil to create the illusion of wider, brighter eyes!
Hydrate and prime the skin by applying a face primer to the entire face to create a smooth base and to reduce any visible pores.
For foundation I used the M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in the shade NW15 for a full coverage (this is 5 shades lighter than what I normally wear as I wanted the face to be paler than usual). Apply to the face and neck before blending out with a damp Beautyblender.
Once done, set under the eyes and face using the translucent setting powder.
To create the outline of Minnie's face I used a White Kohl Eyeliner pencil to draw the outline as a guide. This way I could see what outside areas needed to be painted black and what parts needed to stay neutral. Start at the centre point of the face and try and pencil in the guide as symmetrical as you can. Then take some black face paint on a paint brush or synthetic face brush and fill in the outside areas so it blends in with your hairline. I also took the black paint under the chin for a mask like effect.
For the nose take a fine paint brush and paint a solid black circle on the tip of your nose. Leave it to dry for a couple of minutes and then take some white face paint on a cotton tip and paint a dot which will give a reflective effect.
For this look a bright red lip was a must! I used the Rimmel by Kate 'Idol Red' Lipstick for that perfect pop of colour!
