Get The Look: Khaki Queen

I'm stepping into the wild as a khaki green jungle queen!

Get the look below!

Hydrate the skin using Mac Prep + Prime Fix+ and then apply Nivea Men Post Shave Balm (Yes you that read correctly: mens shaving balm! Read my latest blog post on why this is the must try primer!) to the entire face to prep the base ready for foundation.

Dot Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation to the face and blend with a damp Beauty Blender.

Conceal under the eyes and using Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer and set the eyes and face using Laura Mercier Loose Translucent Setting Powder.

Contour the face and add some colour to the cheeks using Kat Von D's Shade and Light Cheek palette in 'Hansel and Gretel' (coming soon to Australia) then define the contour and bake using a dry Beauty Blender and Eve Lom Mineral Powder Foundation

Using a fan brush lightly highlight the tops of the cheekbones, cupids bow and brow bone with 'Champagne Pop' from Becca Cosmetics

Shape and feather the brows using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in 'Medium Brown' and with an angle brush fill in using the taupe shadow form the Bobbi Brown Brow Kit. Lightly apply the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel to hold any natural brow hairs in place.

To define the brows and brow bone take the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer on an angled concealer brush and lightly apply under the brows and blend out.

Apply Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer on the eyelids to create a smooth base and lightly dust a neutral shadow over the top (I used the light shade from the NARS 'Madrague' Eyeshadow Duo).

For my eyes I used various shades from NARS (I will list the shadow names below) but feel free to use your favourite eyeshadows to create this look.

With a fluffy blending brush apply a light brown shadow into the crease to create a transition shade (I used NARS 'Madrague Eyeshadow Duo'). Go backwards and forwards in a fast, light handed motion to blend and remove any harsh lines.

Once done get a flat brush and pack a khaki green shadow over the entire mobile lid (I used the green from the NARS 'Earth Angel' Eyeshadow Duo) working it up to the crease.

Then with a clean fluffy brush lightly blend in the crease to fuse the two colours together without removing the product.

Using a pencil brush apply the same khaki green shade to the outer bottom lash line and for the centre bottom lash line apply an orange shadow to make the look pop (I used the orange shade from the NARS 'Mediteranee' Eyeshadow duo). Then take a clean pencil brush and lightly blend over the top of both shades, lightly smoking it out.

To create the illusion of wider, brighter eyes I popped a metallic shimmer into the inner corner of the eye (I used the metallic rose shade NARS 'Alhambra' Eyeshadow Duo).

Line the top and bottom waterline with a black kohl eyeliner - I used Mac Kohl Power Eye Pencil in 'Feline'.

Line the upper lash line with the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner and coat the lashes with Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara before applying Ardell Natural #135 Lashes to add some lash drama! To define the lash line and hide the lash band, sweep the Sephora Liquid Liner over the top lash line.

Spritz Mac Prep + Prime Fix+ to lock your look in place.

Coat the lips with Too Faced Melted Chocolate 'Metallic Frozen Hot Chocolate' to give the lips a hint of colour and shine.

I love this look for a night out or creating a dramatic statement eye!
If the khaki green shadow is a little out of your comfort zone swap it for a chocolate brown shade and add a pop of purple to the lower lash line!
