Get The Look: Purple Daze

Marisa Robinson Makeup Artist Get The Look Purple Daze

Last week I attended a blogger event and wanted to put my best face forward, so I created a glam look with a matte, smokey eye and lashes for days!

Below are the products I used to create this look so you can try it too!

Hydrate the skin using Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist and then apply Too Faced Primed and Poreless Skin Smoothing Face Primer to the entire face to create a smooth base and to reduce any visible pores. Prep the lips using the Lush Cosmetics Bubblegum Lip Scrub and lip balm to make them soft and smooth.

Dot Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation to the face and blend with a damp Beauty Blender.

Conceal under the eyes using the it Cosmetics 'Eyelift In A Tube', blend out with a damp Beauty Blender and set the eyes and face using Laura Mercier Loose Translucent Setting Powder.

Contour the face using 'Sombre' from the Kat Von D's Shade + Light Contour Palette and add some colour to the cheeks using NARS blush 'Luster'.

Using a fan brush highlight the tops of the cheekbones, cupids bow and brow bone with 'Champagne Pop' from Becca Cosmetics.

Shape and feather the brows using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in 'Medium Brown' and with an angle brush fill in using the taupe shadow form the Bobbi Brown Brow Kit.  Lightly apply The Body Shop Brow and Lash Gel to hold any natural brow hairs in place.

For my eyes I used shades from Lorac 'UNZIPPED' Palette but feel free to use your favourite eyeshadows to create this look.

Apply a neutral matte nude shade (I used 'Undercover') to the eyelids to create a smooth base.

With a fluffy blending brush apply a taupe matte shadow into the crease (I used 'Unconditional'). Go back and forth in a fast, light handed motion to blend and create a transition shade.

Once done, pick up a maroon matte shadow (I used 'Unbridled') and apply it to the outer corner of the mobile lid to add some depth. Then from the centre of the mobile lid to the inner corner use a flat brush to pack on a neutral matte nude shade (I used 'Undercover'). Then with a clean fluffy brush lightly blend to fuse the shades on the lid together and soften any harsh lines.

For the lower lash line, apply the same maroon matte shadow to the outer corner bringing it in towards the centre using a pencil brush. Then from the centre of the lower lash line to the inner corner, apply the same taupe matte shadow. Then lightly blend over the top of both shades with a fluffy brush to smoke it out.

Line the upper lash line with Sephora Liquid Liner and coat the lashes with the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara before applying Model Rock Lashes #220 to add some lash drama! To define the lash line and hide the lash band, sweep the Sephora Liquid Liner over the top lash line.

Line and fill the lips using the Too Faced Perfect Lips Lip Liner in 'Nude' and coat the lips with Buxom Full-On Lipstick in 'Dolly' which also provides a subtle, lip plumping effect.
