Get The Look: Smokey Eye Surprise

My latest creation is a matte smokey eye surprise using the Tarte 'Tease' Palette! I amped up the glam factor with statement lashes and added a soft pink pout for a girly touch.

Get the look below using must-haves and some new favourites!

Hydrate the skin using Mac Prep + Prime Fix+ and then apply it Cosmetics 'Feel The Moment' Primer Serum to the entire face to create a smooth base and to reduce any visible pores. Prep the lips using the Lush Cosmetics Bubblegum Lip Scrub and lip balm to make them soft and smooth.

For foundation I used the it Cosmetics CC+ Veil Beauty Fluid Foundation (available in store from Sephora) in shade Medium. This is a cushion compact foundation and the coverage it provides is amazing while still being lightweight. I applied it to my face and blended it down my neck using the included applicator.

For concealer I used it Cosmetics 'Eyelift In A Tube'. This is a dual ended product with the popular 'Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer' (shade Neutral Medium) on one end and 'Hello Light Liquid Brightener' on the other end. I applied the concealer under my eyes and brightener down the bridge of my nose, centre of my chin and forehead and under my eyes blending it all out using the Sephora 3D Precision Sponge

To set the eyes and face I used the it Cosmetics Celebration Foundation Illumination in the shade Fair.

Then contour the cheekbones and sides of the nose using the Benefit Cosmetics 'Hoola' Bronzer and add some colour to the cheeks using the Mac Cosmetics X Ellie Goulding Powder Blush Duo

Using a fan brush highlight the tops of the cheekbones, cupids bow and brow bone with 'Glimmer' and 'Radiance' from the Laura Mercier Candleglow Luminizing Palette.

Shape and feather the brows using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in 'Medium Brown' and with an angle brush fill in using the taupe shadow form the Bobbi Brown Brow Kit.  Lightly apply The Body Shop Brow and Lash Gel to hold any natural brow hairs in place.

For my eyes I used shades from the Tarte 'Tease' Palette which I picked up from Sephora (I will list the shadow names below) but feel free to use your favourite eyeshadows to create this look.

Apply a neutral matte nude shade (I used 'Whisper') to the eyelids to create a smooth base.

With a fluffy blending brush apply a warm brown matte shadow into the crease (I used 'Heartbreaker'). Go back and forth in a fast, light handed motion to blend and create a transition shade.

Once done, pick up a dark plum matte shadow (I used 'BFF') and apply it to the outer corner of the mobile lid to add some depth. Then with a clean fluffy brush lightly blend to fuse the shades on the lid together and soften any harsh lines.

Then from the centre of the mobile lid to the inner corner use a flat brush to pack on a bronze shimmer for a hint of glam to this matte smokey eye.

For the lower lash line, apply the same dark plum matte shadow to the outer corner bringing it in towards the centre using a pencil brush. Then from the centre of the lower lash line to the inner corner, apply the same bronze shimmer shadow. Then lightly blend over the top of both shades with a fluffy brush to smoke it out.

Line the upper lash line with Sephora Liquid Liner and coat the lashes with the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara before applying Model Rock Lashes #220 to add some lash drama! To define the lash line and hide the lash band, sweep the Sephora Liquid Liner over the top lash line.

Line and fill the lips using the Too Faced Perfect Lips Lip Liner in 'Nude' and coat the lips with Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in 'Lovely' for a soft pink pout.
