Glossier Haul and First Impressions

When your U.S bestie comes to town you ask her to bring all your fave things: Allure mag, American Candy Bars and of course award-winning beauty brand Glossier.

What started out as a blog (you may have heard of it, Into The Gloss) has now turned into a beauty empire selling everything from makeup to skincare in it's fun and minimal pink packaging! Glossier is also cruelty free making me love the brand even more!

In this blog post I am going to share the products I received in my Glossier Haul and my first impressions on each.

Glossier Milk Jelly Cleanser $18 USD (approx. $23 AUD)
Best Seller + Allure Best of Beauty 2017

What Glossier say:
This is the ultimate daily face wash: use on dry skin to dissolve away makeup and grime, or on wet skin as you start your day. The pH-balanced, creamy gel formula is made with a blend of five skin conditioners so your face is left feeling healthy and soft, never tight. Its cleansing power comes from the same gentle cleaning agents found in contact lens solution, so it’s tough on impurities and still safe to use on your eyes.

Glossier Review Marisa Robinson Beauty

My thoughts + first impressions:
This is the first time I have ever used a 'jelly' style cleanser and I was pleasantly surprised. It felt a little strange at first but once applied and massaged onto wet skin it gently cleanses removing dirt and impurities in minutes. It has a very subtle rose scent which is definitely not strong or overpowering and my skin did not experience any redness or irritation after use. After I had pat my face dry with a clean towel my skin felt clean and hydrated.

Glossier Priming Moisturiser $22 USD (approx. $28 AUD)
Teen Vogue 2015 Game Changers

What Glossier say:
It visibly plumps skin up with moisture to create cushiony bounce and an even texture, which helps minimize the appearance of pores—minus any heavy blurring ingredients. The anti-redness complex soothes and evens skin tone, leaving a clean, dewy, balanced finish. This comforting cream allows you to layer and build up to the perfect amount of moisture depending on climate, season, or how your skin’s feeling on any given day.

My thoughts + first impressions:
One word: obsessed! I have been using this moisturiser every day for the past week and my skin is loving it and looking so clear! Not only is it amazing to apply, it isn't sticky, blends beautifully and absorbs quickly into the skin, but it does exactly as it promises: moisturises the skin, leaving it soft and plump. As you may know I get rosacea through my cheeks so I also love that the formula contains an anti-redness complex to soothe and calm the skin. Wear solo or before you apply your makeup as it preps and primes the skin creating a perfect base. I need a lifetime supply of this cream, it is that good!

Glossier Balm Dotcom - Rose $12 USD (approx. $15 AUD)

What Glossier say:
A hydrating, long-lasting, multipurpose lip balm and skin salve that’s packed with antioxidants and natural emollients to nourish and repair dry, chafed skin. The dense, waxy texture stays in place to seal in moisture wherever it goes.

My thoughts + first impressions:
I am a sucker for a good lip balm and generally have 4-5 floating around my bag at any given time so I was really excited to try Balm Dotcom. I got the flavour 'Rose' and it smells amazing and leaves my lips feeling nourished and hydrated. This is also an all-purpose balm which you can use to hydrate dry skin on areas such as nail cuticles or your elbows. This balm comes in 5 other flavours with 'Coconut' and 'Birthday' at the top of my wish list!

Glossier Boy Brow $16 USD (approx. $20 AUD)
#1 Bestseller

What Glossier say:
All brow needs have been considered to create THE brow product: one to thicken, fill in, and groom brows into place. The creamy wax formula is inspired by traditional hair pomade for soft, flexible hold that doesn’t stiffen or flake.

My thoughts + first impressions:
To create full and fluffy brows I love using a brow gel and the fact this is tinted is a bonus. I love that the spoolie is small and precise and to apply I back comb it through my brows for extra volume and then softly brush over to shape my natural hairs and hold them in place. This is definitely a must for those off duty minimal makeup days to fill and style.

Glossier Cloud Paint - Beam $18 USD (approx. $23 AUD)

What Glossier say:
The pillowy, gel-cream formula is designed to be the most user-friendly cheek colour in existence. If you can finger paint, you can Cloud Paint—simply dab it onto cheeks wherever you please. It’s seamless, sheer, and buildable.

My thoughts + first impressions:
Lately I have been using liquid base products and skipping powders which can often make me look cakey. I have tried a couple of cream blushes before but haven't found any I love, until now! I got the shade 'Beam' which is a beautiful peachy hue and a little bit goes a very long way! Simply apply a small dot onto your index finger and tap onto the apples of your cheeks, blending out as you go. The result is a beautiful and natural wash of colour that stays all day!

Glossier Haloscope Dew Effect Highlighter $22 USD (approx. $28 AUD)
2017 Into the Gloss Top 25 Awards

What Glossier say:
Skincare + makeup = Haloscope, the galaxy’s first dew effect highlighter. It’s a dual-delivery formula: the outer halo is infused with genuine crystal extracts for all-day enlightenment, with a solid oil core of vitamin-rich moisturisers for a hydrated, dewy finish. Expect an otherworldly sheen that’s never dry, never glittery.

My thoughts + first impressions:
You know I am all about that highlighter life so I couldn't resist getting the Haloscope to try. I picked up the shade 'Quartz' which is a pearlescent shimmer and it glides smoothly over the skin and requires only a light tap to blend out around the edges. The solid balm on the inside definitely helps create that smooth, dewy finish. This is definitely a must for those minimal 'no makeup' makeup days just to give my skin a healthy glow.

If you have a product you're obsessed with you can also order it so it gets delivered to you every 1, 2 or 3 months so you're never without!

When it comes to shipping there is some good news and some bad news. The bad news is Glossier is currently only shipping to the U.S, Canada and the U.K BUT the good news is with services such as Shop and Box you can shop from anywhere in the world to get your beauty fix from brands which don't ship to Australia. If you want more info on my experience with Shop and Box and how it works click here. Or if you have friends in any of those countries ask them to order and ship it to you in exchange of Aussie brands and Tim Tams!

Have you tried Glossier? What is your fave product or what's on your wish list?
