John Frieda Frizz Ease Range Review and First Impressions

Marisa Robinson Beauty John Frieda Frizz Ease Review

If you watched my Insta Stories (@marisarobinson.mua) last week you will have seen that I was spoilt with an amazing PR delivery from John Frieda. A huge purple box was filled with their complete Frizz Ease range and a wheel to help me find the perfect products for a frizz fighting regime.

In this blog post I will share my previous hair routine and how the new John Frieda Frizz Ease range has changed my hair game!

I will admit when it comes to my hair I am pretty lazy. I don't often heat style it as it has been through years of bleach, chemical treatments and colours so now I am trying to give it as much love and TLC as I can to nourish it and get it back to a healthy state.

My hair routine is pretty simple: shampoo, condition, towel dry, perhaps put some hair oil through the ends and air dry. That's it.

But what I have been finding it that by the end of the same day it has been washed it already looks oily, especially around the roots, and I pretty much need to wash it the next day. I tried leaving it a few days as I didn't want to strip my hair of its natural oils but it looked gross so I had to wash it immediately.

I then thought perhaps air drying it was causing the oiliness and that I should blow dry it instead. Nope, it wasn't that either.

So I changed up the products I was using and it helped a bit, but I was still getting the oil slick 2 days later and it was driving me crazy!

As soon as I received the goodies from John Frieda I was a little overwhelmed, I didn't know where to start. Kind of the same feeling I get when I go to the shops and I stare at the wall of hair products, which ones are the right ones for my hair?

Thankfully they enclosed a 'Frizz Fighting Regime' wheel to help me determine exactly which products I would need. In fact the wheel covers all hair types and hair condition scenarios:

- Colouring/Chemical Treatments (That's Me)
- Rain
- Dryness
- Heat Styling
- Curly Heritage
- Humidity

Hair Type:
- Straight Air Dry (That's Me)
- Straight Heat Styling
- Curly Air Dry
- Curly Heat Styling
- Wavy Air Dry
- Wavy Heat Styling

So based on my straight, air dry, coloured/chemical treated hair I reached for the wheels recommendations:
Shampoo: John Frieda Frizz Ease New Formula Miraculous Recovery Shampoo
Conditioner: John Frieda Frizz Ease New Formula Miraculous Recovery Conditioner
Serum: John Frieda Frizz Ease Extra Strength Serum
Oil: John Frieda Frizz Ease Nourishing Oil Elixir
Styling Cream: John Frieda Frizz Ease Secret Weapon Finishing Créme

Now this seemed like a lot of products compared to my very simple routine so I decided to start by trying the shampoo, conditioner and oil - pretty much replacing what I was currently doing to see if that made a difference.

So on Saturday after my gym sesh I came home and washed my hair using the John Frieda Frizz Ease New Formula Miraculous Recovery Shampoo and Conditioner and Nourishing Oil Elixir. I did everything as I normally would: shampoo, condition, towel dry, oil though the ends, air dry and then went about my day.

After a couple of hours when my hair was totally dry it was so soft and as I gazed at my hair through my cars review mirror I noticed there was no frizz or fly-aways around my centre part. So far so good! I even mentioned to my boyfriend how much better my hair felt compared to what it normally would by now, doing a casual hair flick, clearly impressed by the results. But the day wasn't over so we continued on.

By the end of a full day outside and being caught in the wind many times, my hair still looked really fresh, clean and there were no signs of oil - winning! The ultimate test would be how it was in the morning. But when I woke up, other than my usual looking disheveled bed hair, the condition of it was still good and oil free! I went to the gym again and usually by now it needs to be washed stat, but I popped on my shower cap to keep it from getting wet, got out, brushed it and apart from a little bit of oil around my hair line (which I suspect was from my workout), the rest of my hair was like it had just been washed!

I am REALLY impressed with this new formulation! Their website states that the Frizz Ease Miraculous Recovery Shampoo and Conditioner:
Repairs the look and feel of dry, damaged hair while restoring natural frizz defences for noticeably silky-smooth results. With Amino Repair Complex, unmanageably frizzy hair can now be a distant memory and this helps instantly reverse 75% of surface damage for 3x smoother hair. With conditioning agents, this targeted formulation helps to seal split ends, while providing intense nourishment for touchably-smooth hair.

While the Frizz Ease Nourishing Oil Elixir:
Nourishes hair for exceptional salon-softness, smoothness & shine. Lightweight formula with argan oil infuses strands and blocks frizz for 50% smoother healthier hair. Fast-drying formula leaves hair feeling soft and more manageable without a greasy residue. Use alone or with your favourite styler to add an instant boost of softness and shine to any style.

This is actually my first time using the John Frida Frizz Ease range and I can confidently say it is my new go-to for soft, shiny and frizz-free hair!

The John Frieda Frizz Ease range is available from Priceline, Chemist Warehouse, Target, Big W and all good supermarkets nationwide.
