My Must-Have Facial Mists

Marisa Robinson Beauty Blogger Setting Sprays and Facial Mists

When it comes to beauty there are a couple of products I am obsessed with and insist they are a collect em all collection: Highlighters and Facial Mists.

While setting sprays and facial mists come in a similar pump action bottle, they are both used for different purposes. Setting sprays are ideal for locking your makeup in place and and facial mists are perfect for hydrating the skin which I enjoy using on the daily. There are also some multi purpose facial mists which do the job of both a setting spray and a hydrating mist which I am a huge fan of!

In this blog post I share some of my must-have facial mists I use to refresh and hydrate my skin.

I love all things rose scented so this was a must in my collection. Sephora has recently started selling the Herbivore Botanicals range online so I was quick to pick this face mist up to try and I am in love! The Rose Hibiscus Face Mist is created with pure plant actives and a coconut water base infused with youth-boosting hibiscus flower petals and moisture-enhancing rose to tone, hydrate, and soften all skin types. I love this scent so much and I like to use it in the morning as a nice wake up call for my skin.

This was one of the first facial mists I used and it remains one of my holy grails! Not only does it restore and hydrate my complexion but it soothes my cheeks when I am suffering from rosacea. It is ideal for normal to combination skin and it has a gorgeous rose scent which isn't too overpowering.

After trying the 50ml Avéne Thermal Spring Water spray it was love at first spritz! I love the fine, refreshing mist so I immediately upgraded to the 300ml can. This formula is gentle and perfect for those with sensitive skin as it provides instant relief to inflamed skin.

I will admit, I bought this facial spray because I heard Kim Kardashian's makeup artist Mario used it to prep her skin before creating her signature makeup style. If it is good enough for Kim it is good enough for me, right?! But it turns out I really love this spray and it makes my skin feel amazing. I like to use it mainly before I apply foundation as this milky emulsion contains moisturisers and humectants that leave the skin rehydrated. But it can also be used on top of makeup and it doesn't disturb or ruin your flawless finish.

Not only do I love the scent of this spray which is enriched with neroli oil, extracted from the blossoms of the bitter orange tree, but I find it disperses the perfect amount of mist in a nice, light veil over the face. There is nothing worse than a mist squirting you in the face but this is just right and creates a gentle spritz over the skin. It also contains a patented anti-oxidant blend of white, red and green tea extracts combined with goji berry, pomegranate and grape seed extracts to help protect the skin from environmental toxins and combat the visible signs of premature ageing.

As you can spot in the background of my pic, I am a huge fan of Fix+ from Mac Cosmetics and when they released their scented range I had to get them all! This lightweight mist infused with a blend of green tea, chamomile and cucumber hydrates the skin but I also like to use it to dampen my makeup brush to pick up pigments or create a wet look eye makeup look.

The Cinch 'Face Cheat' is a 5-in-1 facial spray which primes, illuminates, moisturises, hydrates and minimises pores! I love spritzing this over my face when I am running late and massage any excess spray into my skin on my off duty makeup days.

The Melissa Allen Mood Essentials range of sprays is made in Australia and is infused with natural essential oils. Not only do these make you smell great but the soothing scent is used to promote a positive state of mind and transform the way you feel. I have recently finished the 'I Have Calm' spray and I loved spritzing it on my pillow each night as the lavender scent created a peaceful nights sleep.
