Ole Henriksen Cool Plunge Pore Mask Review

When you see Desi Perkins rocking a blue face mask on Insta you know I need to jump on that bandwagon! So when I received a special delivery a week later from One Daydream PR containing the Ole Henriksen Cold Plunge Pore Mask I could not wait to try it out.

In this blog post I am going to share my first impressions of this insta worthy blue mask but before I do here is some information straight from the Ole Henriksen website:

Reduces the look of and deeply purifies pores, controls oil up to 8 hours.
Take the plunge for smaller-looking pores, instantly.

Deeply purify and diminish pores with an exhilarating chill. Inspired by the “cold plunge” part of a Scandinavian sauna cycle, this cooling clay mask detoxifies, controls oil and reduces the look of pores. The innovative formula harnesses the power of alpine willowherb and snow lotus—antioxidant-rich botanicals that have adapted to thrive in extreme cold—to soothe, mattify and refine pores. Add cool water, and the turquoise clay mask “thaws” into a luxurious lather that sweeps away excess oil and impurities. With AHA and BHA, the mask unveils dramatically improved skin texture. Balance is restored as Green Fusion Complex™ and neem seed oil help replenish the skin and you see a refreshed, refined and purified Ole Glow®.

Thanks to the included mini brush, application was super easy! It is the perfect sized brush and made applying the mask so precise so it didn't end up in my brows or too close to my eyes.

Simply squeeze a small amount of the mask onto the brush and apply to the face. I worked in small sections to ensure an even coverage. Then I set my phone timer for 15 minutes, snapped a few selfies, sat back and relaxed.

Ole Henriksen Cool Plunge Pore Mask Review

Just a bit of background on my skin. I have combination to normal skin which does get a bit oily through the t-zone. I have visible pores on my nose, cheeks and chin so I was definitely excited to see how this mask worked for me and if it reduced the size of my pores.

Once applied, the first thing I noticed was the cooling sensation the clay mask provided, almost like menthol. But it was after the 15 minutes when I applied the cold water that the real magic happened. The clay mask, which has set, turns into a lather and my skin immediately felt so cold and refreshed. It was incredible! Once completely washed off, I dried my face with a clean towel and went in for the pore inspection!

Straight away I noticed a HUGE difference in the size of my pores. The small ones were virtually non existent and the larger ones had become visibly smaller. My skin has also never felt so refreshed. The ingredients and formulation definitely takes clay masks to the next level! My skin also felt soft, balanced and oil free, instantly after removal and hours later.

I have since used the mask a couple of times and my skin is loving it! I definitely recommend trying this mask out if you do have visible pores or oily skin, it not only provides a great face mask experience but will leave your skin glowing!

The Ole Henriksen Cold Plunge Pore Mask is available now in store and online at Sephora.
