Philosophy Microdelivery Detoxifying Oxygen Peel Review and First Impressions
This week I was kindly sent the new Philosophy Microdelivery Detoxifying Oxygen Peel to try out. My skin has been a bit temperamental lately so I thought a peel would be the best way to give it some extra TLC.
In this blog post I share the 2 step application process, the instant foaming results and how it made my skin feel afterwards. But before I share my thoughts and first impressions here is some information straight from the Philosophy website:
detox and re-ox* for clear, fresh, revitalized skin. this innovative 2-step peel combines 2 products in 1, to deliver the purifying benefits of a detoxifying mask plus the brightening benefits of an oxygen facial. step I with activated charcoal draws out dirt and impurities, as barley leaf extract delivers the first burst of oxygen to the skin. step II completes the re-ox, with a second boost of re-energizing oxygen in a light and airy foam that activates on contact.
The Philosophy Microdelivery Detoxifying Oxygen Peel comes in a box with two tubes, the black tube being the 'detoxifying charcoal gel' and the white tube is the 'oxygen foam booster'. You also receive a plastic spatula which you use to remove the peel from your skin and an instruction guide.
Apply a thick layer of the detoxifying charcoal gel (black tube) onto clean, dry skin ensuring even application. Do not rinse and follow with step 2. Try not to get the mask too close to your eyes or near your hairline.
Apply a generous amount of the Oxygen Foam Booster (white tube) directly on top of step 1.
Massage the white mask over the top of the black mask in circular motions and watch it foam and activate before your eyes! Leave on for 3 minutes.
As you can see below by applying step 2 on top of step 1 it builds up into a foamy lather on your face detoxifying your skin.
Remove the mask by using the enclosed exfoliating derma blade. Move the blade along the skin in a shaving motion until it is removed. Rinse off any excess product from your face with water.
I really loved this mask and enjoyed the application process and seeing it instantly activate. As soon as you start massaging in the oxygen foam booster (step 2) it immediately foams up into a thick lather. You can't feel it bubbling but I love how it works together to really detoxify the skin.
You only need to leave the mask on for 3 minutes which is also great as it was enough time for me to turn on my computer and check my emails while it worked its magic!
Once the mask was removed and all traces washed off, my skin felt clean and smooth. I then went on to apply the Philosophy 'Take a Deep Breath' Oxygenating Gel Cream and my skin immediately felt fresh, plump and hydrated.
As it recommends I am going to try using this 3 times a week on every other day and see if the results continue.
Have you tried this peel or any other products from the Philosophy skincare range?
