Smith & Cult Nail Polish Swatches - December 2018

Smith & Cult Nail Polish Swatches December 2018

When it comes to cruelty free nail polishes the choices can often be few and far between. But of all the brands that don’t test on animals I am so glad Smith and Cult is one of them.

Known for their signature hammered caps, Smith and Cult has dominated the nail polish game with their incredible range shades which are all uniquely named after co-founder, Dineh Mohajer's, life experiences.

This week I was kindly sent three of the five new Smith and Cult shades (top trio of the pyramid above) being released in December and in this post I will share swatches and information on each.

The three new shades and the meaning behind each are:

A Short Reprise (Opaque Lavender Mauve)
I am a huge fan of lavender so when I received this shade it was love at first sight!

I’m house sitting for Sam. What was meant to be a two day favour has now turned into twelve days of complete confinement. His apartment is the definition of masculine defeat; not one drop of colour in this whole place. Just a beige bland wasteland. Went home today to grab more of my things since he is still “not sure how much longer he will be gone”. I was so starved for colour that the lavender label on my laundry detergent was as mesmerizing as the Met.

Analog Fog (Opaque Vibrant Plum)
As worn on my Nails in the photo above. This high shine, rich berry hue is so beautiful and looks gorgeous worn solo or paired with ‘Ceremony of Secrets’.

I just found out my new boyfriend only watches DVD’s. No Netflix. Says digital preserves better and can be manipulated easier. I am not sure if this is my future husband or if I am about to become a missing person.

Ceremony of Secrets (Micro Rose Glitter)
As worn as a Feature Nail in the photo above. This shade is absolutely stunning with the glitter being so finely milled that you really only need one coat. This is definitely going to be a favourite this holidays!

I lined the drawers of my vanity table with remnants of rose coloured wallpaper from where we used to live. I slid a picture of you underneath and then sealed it down. I’m hoping the next owner will pull up the liners and find the secret of you.

Shades from left to right:
A Short Reprise (Opaque Lavender Mauve)
Analog Fog (Opaque Vibrant Plum)
Ceremony of Secrets (Micro Rose Glitter)

For the above swatches, both on my hand and on the swatch sticks, I have applied two coats. In truth the shades are so pigmented I could have got away with one coat but two disguises any sections I have missed in the initial application.

As well as being cruelty free, Smith and Cult nail polishes are 8-FREE and are guaranteed to be formulated without Dibutyl Phthalate, Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Camphor, Xylene, Ethyl Tosylamide and Triphenyl Phosphate.

Smith and Cult Nail Polishes are available in store at Sephora for $32AUD RRP.
