Swatch Session // Rimmel Moisture Renew Sheer and Shine Lipstick Collection

Marisa Robinson Makeup Artist Swatch Session Rimmel Sheer and Shine Lipstick

In addition to their popular Moisture Renew Lip Collection, Rimmel has just launched their new range of Moisture Renew Sheer & Shine Lipsticks and I was lucky enough to be sent the new shades to try and put to the test!

After I ripped open the package like a kid on Christmas Day, I popped off the transparent pink lids to reveal perfect, lipstick bullets in 6 juicy new shades! At first glance they are a cocktail of pink hues but the one that caught my eye was #700, 'Better & Brighter', which is more of a nude shade. If you're a regular reader you will know I am a sucker for a good nude lipstick and adore Rimmel's Lasting Finish by Kate Nude #45 Lipstick!

On closer inspection I am also greeted by a subtle, sweet scent with a hint of citrus which was a very welcome surprise.

I have swatched each shade on my wrist below to show you the range of colours. These lipsticks are definitely buildable so I have applied 3-4 layers to show you the true hue but keep in mind that each shade will vary depending on your natural lip colour.

Shades from left to right:
#700 - Better & Brighter
#600 - Spin All Spring
#500 - Red-Y, Set, Go!
#300 - Pink Rules
#200 - Glow-Rious Pink
#100 - Woke Up Like This

On application the lipstick glides smoothly over my lips, with one coat providing a sheer shine and a few coats adding a pretty pop of colour. I like the shape of the bullet too and how the angled tip helps to create precise lines and a clean finish. After a few minutes, my lips (which have been a little chapped lately due to the cold weather) already feel softer as the formula deeply moisturises them. After further research I discovered that this formula contains nourishing ingredients such as Pomegranate Sterols, Mango Butter and Vitamins A, C and E so I know my lips are going to look good and feel great.

I found that this lipstick lasts on my lips for about 1.5 - 2.5 hours after application depending on if you are eating or drinking (and I always opt for a straw for longer lasting lipstick!).

After wearing this lipstick all weekend I am really happy with the formula and how soft and smooth my lips feel. I will definitely be throwing this lipstick in my bag to wear on the daily because it is fuss free, easy to apply and provides a subtle yet pretty pop of colour.

I would generally lean towards wearing most of these shades in Spring and Summer but because of the buildable colour and the fact they also act as a nourishing lip balm means there is no time like the present to rock the new Rimmel Sheer & Shine Lipstick collection!
