The Brush Bar Review
While I love makeup one job I still put off until I have used my last clean brush is washing my makeup brushes. From face brushes to eye brushes, between my kit and personal collection I have hundreds of brushes so cleaning them is no 5 minute job. So when the team at The Brush Bar reached out and sent me their Brush Bar, Brush Board and Brush Bubbly to try I couldn't wait to put them to the test and hopefully make my life a little easier!
In this post I am going to share before shots of my dirty brush and after shots once I have used The Brush Bar.
The Brush Bar
The Brush Bar is a slimline makeup drying rack which has 10 prongs in 3 sizes (2 small, 6 medium, 2 large) to hold brushes of any brand and size upside down to dry. What I love about this board is that you simply pop it open and sit it on the edge of any surface to dry your brushes and then fold it up and store it safely in the included pouch.
From face brushes to eye brushes, The Brush Bar hold them securely to dry using the various sized metal prongs which the brushes slide into.
The Brush Board
The Brush Board is a makeup brush exfoliator which is double sided board and has 6 different textures to scrub between and around your makeup brush bristles.
On one side (top) you have triangular prism for a medium scrub, ridges for a dual purpose scrubber and waves scraper. On the other side (bottom) you have cylinders for a gentle yet effective clean, pyramids for a deep clean and cones for a deep clean and a bristle comb to separate bristles for quick drying.
You wouldn't be able to clean makeup brushes without brush cleaner and Brush Bubbly is the perfect solution. This is a gentle makeup remover which removed the liquid and cream makeup, dirt and oil. You simply disperse some in The Brush Board with a little water and work your brushes in a gentle swirling motion to clean.
The Brush Board In Action
I decided to put The Brush Board, Brush Bubbly and Brush Bar to the test to clean some of my makeup brushes.
1. Dirty makeup brush containing peach coloured eyeshadow.
2. Squeeze a dollop of Brush Bubbly into the Brush Board along with a splash of water and swirl your brush around to clean.
3. I added some clean water to the second section of The Brush Board and swirled the brush around to remove any Brush Bubbly and rinse.
4. In the third section I added a splash of water and swirled my brush around for the last time ensuring no soap was in the bristles and that the water was clear. If it wasn't clear I repeated the third step until the brush was clean.
5. The brush is now clean and ready to put hung upside down in The Brush Bar.
The Brush Board, Brush Bubbly and Brush Bar is easy to use and definitely gets my brushes squeaky clean! I like to wash 3-4 brushes of the same shape/size at once to save time and The Brush Board did a great job of cleaning them all no matter how dirty they were.
