Youngblood Cosmetics Color Crays Matte Lip Crayon Review
When it comes to creating a makeup look I always apply my lipstick last. Sometimes I know what shade I want to wear but a lot of the time the colours used on my eyes help me determine which lipstick shade to wear.
A lip range I have been reaching for on the daily has been Youngblood Cosmetics Color Cray Matte Lip Crayons and in this blog post I am going to share my thoughts on the formulation, application and a few of my favourite shades.
As the name suggests the lipstick is a lip crayon and in honesty other than lip liners I don't have a lot of experience with lip crayons. I tried a chubby lip crayon once and I found the application messy and it wasn't as precise as I like. But I can report that I did not have any problems with the Youngblood Cosmetics lip crayons.
The pointed tip guarantees a precise application every time and allows me to line my lips before filling them. This versatility is definitely something I look for in products, especially to take when I am travelling. When I apply any kind of dark or bold lip shades I line the lips with an invisible lip liner first to help keep my lip line smooth and also eliminate any colour bleeding. But with the YB lip crayons I didn't experience any bleeding at all which was great!
While this is a matte formula it is not drying whatsoever thanks to the formula being enriched with Vitamin E. I am often skeptical of matte formulas as they can suck the life out of your lips but this formula is so comfortable to wear and it has great stay power. In each of the looks I have shared in this post, I have worn the shades for 5+ hours and had no need to re-apply, winning!
For those days when I want a little extra shine I apply a clear gloss over the top.
There are 7 gorgeous shades in the Youngblood Cosmetics Color Crays Lip Crayon range but the three I am loving, and featured in this blog post, are:
SANTA CRUZ (1st Pic)
Since receiving this lip crayon it has secured a permanent place in my bag, it is the perfect nude, almost like my lip shade but better! If you love nude lipsticks Santa Cruz is a must!
RODEO RED (2nd Pic)
I am not a red lipstick lover but this might just be the most perfect red I have ever worn! Not only is the shade gorgeous but the pointed tip made application a cinch. I normally avoid red lipsticks because I know unless I have the time to focus on application it ends up a mess but I was rocking 'Rodeo Red' in minutes! I had to use a little concealer to clean up the lip line but that is a trick I like to use with any lipstick to make the lip line super sharp.
NAPA WINE (3rd Pic)
This colour was definitely out of my comfort zone but I am OBSESSED with it! It creates a sexy, vampy vibe which is ideal for Autumn/Winter. I paired this with a mustard yellow eye look which I thought would be the main feature of my look but as soon as I applied Napa Wine it was all eyes on the lips! This lip colour received a lot of compliments on the gram too so I definitely think it is a winner!
What Youngblood Cosmetics Color Crays Matte Lip Crayon shade would you pick?
